Transmission & Distribution Engineer

Power Consulting Associates, LLC (PCA), a Nashville based construction oversight, engineering, and consulting firm specializing in the power industry is seeking a Mid-Level Transmission & Distribution Engineer for the Nashville office. The ideal candidate would be a licensed professional engineer with 5 – 10 years of experience in the design of transmission and distribution lines. Expectations would include management and engineering design on electrical infrastructure projects throughout North America. Candidate would be required to meet the needs of PCA’s diverse client base of utilities, developers, and contractors. Design work should focusing on providing innovative, economic, and constructible designs complying with local and federal regulations while meeting client’s standards and preferences.

Minimum Qualifications include:

Education, Certification, Training and/or Work Experience required for this job

- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural or Geotechnical)

- Professional Engineer License (Or ability to obtain with 6 months)
- 5-10 Years of Experience in Overhead Line Design

Specialized knowledge

- Construction background and/or understanding

- Fundamentals of electrical engineering as it pertains to civil aspects of the electrical industry
- Fundamentals of Surveying

Skills

- Proficient in: PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, L-Pile, MFAD/H-FAD, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,

Project)
- Experienced in: CAD (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation), GIS software (Quantum GIS, Global Mapper,
Google Earth, etc.), and survey/LiDAR data manipulation
Travel
- Based on project needs, typically 10% - 30% per month
