Engineering Manager – Transmission and Distribution

Location: Opportunity for viable candidate to work remotely. Ideal cities include: Nashville, TN, Kansas City, MO; Chattanooga, TN; Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL or St. Louis, MO.

Power Consulting Associates, a 100% employee-owned, Nashville based construction oversight, engineering, and consulting firm specializing in the power industry is seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to join our team.

DESCRIPTION:

The Engineering Manager will lead and mentor the engineering team while directing workflow and projects including proposal writing, project management and business development. This experienced manager will perform business development duties including but not limited to using existing network to attain additional business, extend network through conferences and networking, cold calls, visits, etc.

REQUIREMENTS: Education & Professional Qualifications

  •  B.S. in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  •  Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Transmission Engineering field with at least five (5) years management experience
  •  PE in the state of TN or the ability obtain within six (6) months

Knowledge/Experience:

  •  Experience managing/completing complex Engineering Projects from proposal to project execution to project close-out
  •  Experience managing people who work in teams and/or independently at local and remote locations
  •  Experience pursuing leads/clients to secure project work
  •  Experience in the Power Delivery Industry
  •  Understanding of Transmission Line Construction

Skills and Abilities:

  •  Proficient in PLS-CADD
  •  Ability to work in a team or individually
  •  Ability to work remotely
  •  Ability to work with limited or no direct supervision
  •  Ability to mentor less experienced engineers
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project)
  •  Experienced in: CAD (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation), GI

Travel Requirements:

  •  Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time, will include overnight travel.
  •  Must be able to attend evening and weekend events
