PCA has been working with KUB on the DC/TS-BG project since 2013. The project consists of approximately 6.8 of 69 kV transmission line rebuild and replacement. The line primarily runs East to West along Highway 11E in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. PCA has provided line design and construction support up to this point in the project. The transmission line is 85% constructed thus far. PCA will continue to support KUB’s construction efforts for the upcoming months.

This project is still heavily in the design phase. The project consists of three separate transmission lines that all intersect at a common point in Knox County, Tennessee. The design of the lines will utilize KUB’s standard assemblies and framings. A critical point in the project is the crossing of the Holston River. It takes many hours of research and design to accurately and correctly cross an obstacle such as that.

The HE11 project is for KUB’s distribution group. PCA is in direct contact with Chris Fullerton, distribution design engineer for KUB. The design phase of this project is nearly completed. Due to the size of the project, the construction will be done in multiple phases over several months. PCA will provide both engineering construction support, as well as, surveying support.
